Floyd P. Alexander, 79, of Creve Coeur died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.

He was born on June 1, 1928, in Peoria to John and Leona Roe Alexander. He married Norma Jean Johnson on Nov. 29, 1946, in Peoria, Ill.; she survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Patricia J. (Jim) Brown of Creve Coeur; his adopted daughter, Bonnie Greiner of Oregon, Ill.; son, Roger Lee (Bertha) Alexander of Creve Coeur; three brothers, Mike, Danny and Bobby Alexander, all of Washington; and one sister, Dorothy Mock of Bloomington, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Peterson, on July 7, 2007.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

Floyd was a clerk for P & P Railroad, where he worked for 42½ years.

Floyd was a member of the VFW No. 814 in Peoria and the Moose Lodge in Peoria.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, Ill.
