Ronald Dabel 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11 2006 at the home of his loving daughter Roxie.
He was born on November 7, 1913 in Freedom to August and Sarah Snyder Dabel He was the 10th of 19 children.
Ron met his eternal companion Pearl Irene Herzog on the dance floor at Cottonwood Lake They were married on August 12, 1935.Their marriage was solemnized on November 15, 1938 in the Logan LDS Temple.
They were blessed with seven children; Roxie Bird; Gary(Karma) Dable; Peggy Dabel; Terry (Marianne) Dabel; Joy (Bob) Peterson; Kim Dabel, and Lori (Robin) Stratton.
His sweetheart, Pearl passed away on June 10, 1980. He married June Saxton Carter and they later divorced. He married Lavon Barclay in 1991.
Ron graduated from Star Valley High School where he excelled in academics and sports. He was an avid outdoorsman who could pull a fish out of a dried up creek.
Ron owned and operated "Red's Service Station" in Afton, for many years. Later in life, he and Pearl moved to Sunset, Utah where he worked at Hill air Force Base retiring after 19 years. He also enjoyed pumping gas at "Big Vern's" until he was in his 70's.
Ron was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was blessed with a strong healthy body, living life to the fullest always being a "110 percent".His positive attitude and cheerful personality will be greatly missed.
He is survived by six children, 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, siblings, Cecil, Calpurnia, Floyd, Verda, Colleen, and Junior(JR).
Ron was preceded in death by his wife Pearl, daughter Peggy, grandsons Jimmy Hansen and Steven Dabel and granddaughter Heidi Dabel. Ron is celebrating a happy reunion.
Funeral will be held Thursday, November 16, at 1 p.m. at the Smoot Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Afton Cemetery.
