Junior Dabel 76, passed away at his home on November 21, 2006. Funeral services were held at the Afton LDS Stake Center on November 25, 2006. Burial took place in the Afton Cemetery.
Junior was born August 1, 1930 in Afton to August Dabel and Sarah Snyder. He spent most of his younger years with his brother, Bob. They enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the hills around Afton and Star Valley.
Junior served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for Call Aircraft and Polaris. Eventually he became self-employed, joining his brothers doing house painting.
Junior married Joyce Kopannik on October 7, 1955. They divorced in 1975. Junior married Jean Andrews on February 15, 1885 in Idaho Falls.
Junior was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed doing service as a home teacher and was a high priest group leader.
Junior is survived by his wife, Jean, three children, and five stepchildren all of Idaho Falls, 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters and one grandson.
