Henry was the eleventh child of Francis and Lola Belle Brown. Born in Jerseyville, IL 26, Dec. 1902. Some of his older brothers led lives of Vagabonds and from what my dad told us they rode the rails and stayed in hobo camps down around Grafton, IL. Now I find this brother Henry that retired from the railroad it makes sense. They traveled between Alton, Illinois to Lincoln, Galesburg and Bloomington, Illinois, all are railroad stops. Henry served in WWII not sure if he was injured but before his death he had been released from the VA hospital on a Friday. The following Tuesday June 2, 1959 about 5:04 a.m. his body was discovered along the tracks. It was believed to be an accident, that he fell from a moving train. He had multiple head and body injuries. His body was released June 4, 1959 to Camp Butler National Cemetery for burial. His sister Dollie Gent was listed as relative on the cemetery records. His parents were both gone at this time. Henry was listed as having never married. I wonder still...what happened in the war, why was he in the VA hospital years after leaving the service. Why was he on the train...(I'm thinking unofficially), and where was he going. His address at the time of death was 602 North Main Street, Bloomington, IL. He had resided there four years.
