She was a homemaker, and a teacher's aide for the Warren School District. She received her education in the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
She married Sgt. James S. Baker. He lost his life on May 24, 1944, in World War II, and he was laid to rest in Ardennes American (ABMC) Cemetery and Memorial in Neuville-en-Condroz, Liege, Belgium.
On October 4, 1947, she married Theron Lee Herring and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1997.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Cooper. Survivors include three sons, four daughters, three brothers, one sister, 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
