Jerry B. Cooper, 82, formerly of Ridge Road, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Sunrise Assisted Living. Born on September 22, 1931 in Warren, Arkansas, where he spent his childhood. Following graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Korean War as a Military Policeman until his discharge in 1953. He was a manager for Eastern Electric Co. until his retirement in 1992.
While attending Tabernacle Baptist Church he was introduced to Dorothy Bailey, and soon after they were wed. Together, they were life-long members of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents, and several siblings. Several nieces and nephews including Sandra Rodden of Carolina Beach, NC, who served as Guardian for both Jerry and Dorothy for several years, survive him.
Graveside Funeral Rites will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 8304 Leesville Road - Raleigh, NC 27613.
