Erma G. Watson, 85, of Spring Road, Shermans Dale, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 4, 1916 in Shermans Dale to the late Elmer L. and Lillian (Hicks) Shatto.

She retired from the Bon-Ton stores with 13 years service and owned and operated Shatto's Groceries at Crum's Corner; and was a member of Shermans Dale United Methodist Church, where she taught the primary Sunday school class, and Shermans Dale Ladies Auxiliary.

She was the widow of Clayton H. Watson, who died in April of 1999.

Surviving are two sons, Keith L. of New Bloomfield and Dane L. of Camp Hill; two sisters, Elva Lebo of Carlisle and Agetha Smeigh of Shermans Dale; a brother, Elmer Shatto Jr. of Shermans Dale, four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Alta Morrison of Newport; and two brothers, Lester Shatto of Carlisle and Richard Shatto of Shermans Dale.

Services were held Dec. 5 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. N. Jefferson Brewster officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
