GALENA, Kan. - Della Rebecca Bynum, 91, 1105 Keller St., died at noon Monday at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., where she had been a patient for two weeks.

Mrs. Bynum was born Nov. 23, 1899, in Galena, and was a lifelong resident of the town. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Church and Women’s Club. She served as a Democratic Party committeewoman in Galena for many years.

She married Ray Dewey Bynum on April 10, 1923, at Webb City, Mo. He died in December 1954.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Bynum, of the home, and Ray Bynum, Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Delores A. Sackuvich, Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are pending with Abbott Funeral Home, Baxter Springs.

GALENA, Kan. - Services for Della Rebecca Bynum, 91, 1105 Keller St., who died Monday, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Christian Church.

The Rev. Walter Howry and the Rev. Paul Sims will officiate. Joe LaTurner will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chick Gilpin, Kirk Qualls, Jack Boyes, Kent Lynch, Tony Carpino and Mike Saporito.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Abbott Funeral Home, Baxter Springs.

The Cherokee County Democratic officials and committeemen and committeewoman will be seated as a group.

BANKSON-BYNUM

Announcement was made today of the marriage of Miss Della Bankson of this city to Ray D. Bynum of Baxter Springs.

The marriage took place at the parsonage of the Christian church in Webb City, Tuesday night at 10 o'clock, the Reverend Amos Clark read the ceremony. The young couple were unaccompanied.

The bride is the only daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Bankson, No. 1109 Kellar Avenue. She is well known here, having been born, reared and educated in this city. She has a host of friends who join us in extending congratulations and wishes for a happy journey through life.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bynum of Baxter Springs. He has a number of friends in this city, having resided here a few years, going from Galena with his parents to Joplin. He received his education in the Joplin schools, later attended school at Oronogo, MO. The family later moved to Baxter. Mr. Bynum has been employed as office manager for the Empire Mine at Hockerville, Okla.

The young couple will reside in Baxter Springs for the present.
