She married first Francis D. Weber on October 18, 1865 in Vermillion County, Indiana. She married second Abner V. Holmes on January 17, 1870 in Warren County, Indiana.

"Mrs. Harriet Utter Holmes, of Williamsport, Warren County, a former resident of this place, and who was well known to many of our citizens, died on April 22, 1889.  She had been an invalid for 2 or 3 years, and suffered intensely at times.  The deceased was born in this town in 1847, and was united in wedlock to A.V. Holmes on January 17, 1870.  She leaves a husband and 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls.  She had been a meer of the M.E.
