Edna was born November 29, 1930 in Davenport. She was the daughter of Theodore and Alvina (Mangels) Stock. She married Robert L. Pierce on May 29, 1949 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2007. She farmed together with her husband for over 50 years. She also had worked for her oldest nephew for 15 years as a cook at the Maid Rite in Tipton. In her earlier years, she worked at the Tiny Lunch in Davenport. Her memberships included Royal Neighbors, Cedar County Farm Bureau Women's Committee, South Bethel Church UMW of Tipton and she had served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Cedar County Historical Society as well as Vice Chairman of the Farmington Farmettes 4-H Club. Those left to celebrate her life include her children; Rebecca Pierce, Tipton, Rachelle "Shelley" (Johnny "Zip" Gatton) Wilson-Gatton, Cleburne, TX, Robert (Carol) Pierce, Altoona, IA and Roderick (Amie Jo) Pierce, Tipton; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Brody Pierce and a grand-dog, Mere. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three infant children, five brothers and four sisters.
