DURANT, Iowa — Bernice B. Kleppe, 87, of Davenport, died on Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Fejervary Health Care Center, Davenport.
Interment will be at Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass. The Rev. Gaylor Nelson will officiate.
Casket bearers are Tony Paulsen, Curt Lobdell, Chris Lobdell, Brad Cox, Bill Carter and Nathan Carter. Glen Boyd will serve as an honorary casket bearer.
A memorial has been established in her memory.

Mrs. Kleppe was born on Aug. 3, 1920, to Theodore and Alvina (Mangels) Stock in Minot, N.D.
She married Norman F. Kleppe on Sept. 10, 1938, in Tipton. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1976.
She worked as a custodian at Meadowlawn Nursing Home and St. Ambrose University.
She was an avid upholster and enjoyed embroiderery, crocheting and playing Yahtzee.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters Katherine Allchin and Judith (Robert) Paulsen, both of Davenport; son Keith Kleppe of Davenport; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her sisters, Dorothy Siems of Durant, Viola Siems of Wapello, Edna Pierce of Tipton and Florence Cawizell of Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter ,Norma Jean Kleppe in infancy; brothers Elmer, Harold, Alvin and Raymond Stock; a son-in-law Ronald Allchin; and a great-grandson, Drew Dodds.
