Dorothy was born February 17, 1925 to Theodore and Alvina (Mangels) Stock in Walcott, IA. Dorothy graduated from Durant High School in 1943. She married William A. Siems on December 11, 1943 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1993.
Dorothy worked at the Durant Foundry for 12 years.
She was a member of the Durant American Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards, doing word puzzles and especially playing Yahtzee. She enjoyed embroidering and reading. Above all, Dorothy loved spending time with her family and going on outings.
Visitation for Dorothy will be on Friday, July 3, 2015, from 10:30 until the funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at the Bentley Funeral Home in Durant, IA.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Frohardt, Mark Siems, Amy Schafer, Ben Schafer, Sarah Maston, Glenn Maston, Jeffrey Gold.
Interment will take place at the Durant Cemetery, Durant , IA.
Dorothy is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters: Joan (Paul) Frohardt of Newton, IA and Julie (Cliff) Gold of Des Moines, IA, her son Gerald (Linda) Siems of Lancaster, PA, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and her sister Edna Pierce of Tipton, IA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters: Florence Cawiezell, Viola Siems and Bernice Kleppe and her brothers: Elmer, Alvin, Harold, Theodore and Raymond Stock.
