Eda was the fifth of fifteen children for E.R. Andrews and Delaphina Brooks Andrews; and wife of Del Ulysses Barnes.

On February 4, 1957 the Harrison Daily Times reported the following:

Mrs. Eda Barnes aged 81 of Omaha died this morning at the Boone County Hospital. She was born March 11, 1875 at Lincoln, NE a daughter of E.R. and Della Andrews. Survivors include eight sons, Hull, Cecil, Robert, O.D., Glen and Louis Barnes all of Omaha, Guy Barnes of Supulpa, OK, Dick Barnes of Fresno, CA: one daughter, Ila Gilbert of Klamath Falls, OR; 31 grandchildren; five brothers, Frank Andrews of Harrison, George Andrews of Omaha, Robert Andrews of Klamath Falls, OR, Mose Andrews of Rio Linda, CA, Roy Andrews of Paradise, CA; four sisters, Cora Richesin of Omaha, Gladys Pruitt of Springfield, OR, Izora Fuller of Letts, Iowa, Claudia Heaton of Kremmling, CO. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Omaha School gymnasium by Rev. Pierce Adams. Burial will be made in the Omaha Cemetery.
