Ethel (Sanders) Andrews and her husband Roy and their eight children came to Klamath Falls in September 1928 from Omaha, Arkansas. It took a month on the road, camping out most of the time and stopping to repair the Model-T car. The roads were all dirt or gravel.

They moved into a house that his sister, who had Pruitt Grocery on South Sixth Street, had rented for them on Radcliffe street. Ethel had typhoid fever that winter and Dr. G.A. Massey came to their house.

Ethel and her husband bought Ideal Grocery Store on East Main Street, about a year later they had a fire and moved down a few blocks to the store building at East Main and Reclamation. Roy took his sign with him so it was on all of his stores. In 1935 he decided to build his own store so he bought a lot from his brother and built the store at 2041 Radlicffe. He decided to retire and they sold the store in 1950 and retired to Paradise, California.

They were the parents of Lena 1911-1933 (Mrs. Axel Florene -deceased); Hazel 1913-2002( Mrs. Marion Biehn); Verla 1914-1986(Mrs. Lester Rogers); Eugene(1917-2005); Lucy Dot 1919-2008(Nolen-Longmire); Alene (Mrs. Hugh Schultz); Virginia (Mrs. Bill Misfedlt; and Bob Andrews (1927-Present).
