Claudia was the 8th of ER & Della Andrews 15 children. After 2 of her brothers almost froze to death in the blizzard of 1888, the family moved from Nebraska to Boone County in northwest Arkansas. They built a house near the town of Lowry and had a mill, Post Office and cotton gin. In 1903, Claudia married James Heaton, a farmer. Her brother Roy married Ethel Sanders (daughter of Charley Sanders and Martha Lowry Sanders).
