Jesse Franklin Still
15 September 1869 - 28 August 1933

Jesse Still, 63, died in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Baer. Funeral services were held in the home of a son, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Still with the Rev. Alfred Munyon conducting. Burial was in the Stein cemetery east of town.

He was born Sept. 16, 1869 in Linn County five miles southeast of Marceline. On Sept. 17, 1891 he married Miss Georgia Ann, Slaughter. They were parents of eight children, seven of whom survive.

Survivors include: his widow, Willie Still, Fred Still. Alva Still, Mrs., Beulah Chrisman, Mrs. Eulah Bell Blew, Mrs. Mary Baer, all of Marceline and a son, Charles Oscar Still, Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters Mrs. Oscar D. Wright, New Cambria and Mrs. Ella Franklin, Kidder; two brothers, Andy Still, Fulton; and Marvin Still, California; and twenty grandchildren.

He was a farmer in the Marceline area and owned and operated a saw mill and threshing machine for more than 45 years. He was the correspondent from his High Hill and Peden Chapel community for the Marceline newspapers for over 30 years.
