Daisy Pauline Everhart Swing, age 105, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Brookstone Retirement Home.

Mrs. Swing was born December 31, 1914, in Davidson County to Charles Thomas Everhart and Helen Sowers Everhart.

She was a member of New Friendship United Church of Christ and ran an in-home daycare for many years. At age 105, she participated in the senior games and won a gold medal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shuford Swing; two sons, Roy Swing and Thomas Swing; brothers, Thomas Everhart, John Everhart, Jim Everhart, Frank Everhart, and Grant Everhart; and sisters, Flossie Berrier, Fannie Whitlock, Sarah Beck, Mamie King, and Mary Bowers.

Surviving is her son, Benny Swing (Brenda Doub), of Lexington; daughters-in-love, Jeanette Swing and Linda Swing Beck; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookstone and Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Daisy.

A private graveside service will be held at New Friendship United Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. Alex Nance. The family will receive friends following the service; social distancing and masks are requested. Mrs. Swing will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm Monday. Memorials may be made to New Friendship United Church of Christ, 307 Turner Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
