LEXINGTON - Mamie Etta Everhart King, 97, of Yountz Road, Lexington, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at the Brian Center.
Mrs. King was born in Davidson County, Dec. 2, 1906 to Charles Thomas Everhart and Ellen Sowers Everhart. She was a member of New Friendship United Church of Christ and a former employee of Dacotah and Erlanger Mills. She retired from Burlington Mills in Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Joseph King Sr.; son, Grady Joseph King Jr.; brothers, Thomas, John, Jim and Frank Everhart and sisters, Sarah Beck and Fannie Whitlock.

She is survived by her son, Gail King and wife, Mildred of Lexington; daughter, Helen Pittman of Roanoke Rapids; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Grant Everhart of Lexington; and sisters, Flossie Berrier, Mary Bowers and Daisy Swing, all of Lexington.

Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, in the chapel, with the Rev. Carol Dyson and the Rev. Paul Titus officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship United Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home.
