Grant Everhart, 88, of Tarheel Trail, Lexington died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 15 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Darrell Sluder. Burial with military rites will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of a son, Mike Everhart, Tarheel Trail, Lexington.

Mr. Everhart was born September 8, 1924 in Davidson County to Charles and Helen Sowers Everhart. He retired from Dixie Furniture and was a sawmill logger. He served in the US Army during World War II and was a member of Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ. His son, Douglas Everhart, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his sons, Larry Everhart and wife, Diane, and Mike Everhart and special friend, Pat Davidson, both of Lexington; his daughter, Janice Blevins and husband, Larry, of Lexington; his sisters, Flossie Berrier and Daisy Swing, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, 1002 E. Holly Grove Road, Lexington NC 27292.
