Dale Blackburn, Bokoshe, Okla., was born June 1, 1934, in Cape Geraldo, Mo., to Charles D. and Julia Hazel (Acup) Blackburn and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in Bokoshe, at the age of 73.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie, of the home; daughters, Vickie Lynn Hudson, Fort Wayne, Susan McCain, Kokomo, and Jodie Kindel, Fort Myers, Fla.; his mother, Hazel Blackburn, St. Petersburg, Fla.; son, Mike Blackburn, Fort Wayne; sisters, Maxine Utsler, Judy Brown and Debe High, all of Kokomo; brother, Terry Blackburn, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Jerry and Bob Blackburn.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lynn Bullard and Brian Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Okla. Pallbearers will be Edward Carter Jr., Cecil Holden, Michael Blackburn, Matthew Blackburn, Bob Hensley and Bill Lindenau. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Carter, Bill Woodall and Harold Treadway.
