Funeral for Mabel M. Sparkman, 92, of Decatur will be Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Brown officiating..

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sparkman, who died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, at Summerford Nursing Home, was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Morgan County to George B. and Nettie Wallace Roberts. She was a member of Priceville United Methodist Church for 40-plus years. Prior to Priceville, she was a member of East End Methodist Church from 1949 until 1962. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman L. Sparkman; one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include one son, Arlon W. Sparkman; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Kellum of Priceville, Timothy W. Sparkman of Caddo and Anthony L. Sparkman of Decatur; one brother, Luther Roberts of Danville; one sister, Earline Marshall of Foley; and eight great-grandchildren.
