© William McGee was born in Donagheady, County Tyrone, Ulster, Ireland and he is the son of Robert McGee Sr., his mother's name is unknown. What is known is that she was born in Ireland and married her husband Robert McGee Sr., the couple had six children all born in Ireland. The McGee parents later moved from Ireland to come to America with their five sons, their daughter Jane McGee, stayed back in Ireland. (Note: Mother McGee's name is NOT Elizabeth Stokley or Ann DeJarnet. The research in both Ireland and the USA by Bill and Jerry McGee, has proven that the parents of the Five McGees was Robert McGee and his Irish wife Mrs. Unknown McGee.)

William McGee came from Ireland in about 1756 with his parents Robert McGee Sr. and (mother) McGee and his four brothers, David, Robert, James and John. Also, one sister named Jane McGee stayed in Ireland, she was married to Charles Young.

William McGee never married and died without issue.

William McGee was the owner of another McGee's Station in Bourbon County or Cove Spring, located near Georgetown Road, McGee's Fork and McClures's Run - a branch of Cooper's Run, built about 1776.

Those at this McGee Station included: Alijah Woods (1776); Roger Clements (1781); Ralph Rayborn (1781); Joseph Proctor (1782); Dawson Wade and his son James from Greenbrier Co VA (1784); John McGuire (1779); Nicholas Proctor (brother of Joseph, to KY in 1778, also at Boonesborough); Strouds and McGee's, along with a Mrs. Wilson (later at Woodford Co). These names taken from various depositions.

William McGee died without issue in Clark County in 1822. When William died he was described as very old, blind, senile, and mean.

Because of a very public lawsuit in 1824 over William McGee's estate it was discovered that the the five McGee brothers left a sister, Jane, in Ireland. It was one of her sons, James Young that was a participant in that suit and in the court records he stated that his mother Jane Young was William's sister.

There was a law suit filed in Bourbon Co.,KY concerning the estate of William McGee who died childless and Intestate in Clark County Kentucky.

This information can be found in the book: "James McCoun & Margaret Walker & Their Descendants." written by Maurie McCoun Klimcheck.

From the book,

Quote; "William McGee died childless and Intestate in Clark County, Kentucky and soon afterward, James Young, the defendant, applied to Clark County for letters of administration upon the estate of William McGee, deceased. They (the McGee heirs) charge that James Young never fulfilled his duties as Administrator, nor has he turned over to the Court any of the assets or inventory of the Estate, nor has he made any account of his administration. They (the McGee heirs) believe that James Young collected large debts and among them was a debt of about $1,000.00 from the Estate of one Larkin Fisher. They (the McGee heirs) alleged that James Young used and occupied, for several years, about 100 acres of valuable land in Bourbon County Kentucky, belonging to the Estate and Heirs of William McGee."
