Services for Ronnel M. Blevins are scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, 2019, 10 a.m. at People’s Funeral Home Chapel in Lone Wolf with interment following at Lone Wolf Cemetery. Public viewing for Ronnel will begin Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 1-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., at People’s Funeral Home.

Ronnel M. Blevins passed from this life on June 29, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with family by his side at age 77. He was born on Sept. 2, 1941, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, to Lester Blevins and O’Leva (Sunderland) Blevins. Ronnel grew up and attended school in Lone Wolf where he was an outstanding athlete, a talent he liked to say that he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

On June 22, 1960, he married the love of his life Sheila Ann Clark and to this union was born five sons; the twins Donald D. and Ronnel W., Douglas, Randall and Timothy. Ronnel and Sheila made their home in Lone Wolf, farmed and raised their family.

Early in his career he worked construction as a heavy equipment operator. In 1969 he began working for Kiowa County District #2 in road maintenance retiring in 1996 and spending the rest of his time farming and helping raise grandchildren. Ronnel was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family. Besides farming, he loved to ride horses and attend the coffee shop board meetings.

Ronnel is survived by his loving wife Sheila of the home, his three sons; Douglas Wayne Blevins and wife Emma of Lone Wolf, Randall Duane Blevins and wife Tana of Hobart and Timothy Dale Blevins and wife Shelley of Lone Wolf, brothers Donnel Blevins and wife Eloise of Granite and Pat Blevins and wife Gloria of Enid, sisters Norma Ward of Wichita, Kansas and Geneva Armstrong of Lone Wolf. One brother-in-law Bob Clark and wife Jane of Altus. Ronnel leaves a legacy of eleven grandchildren; Brooke Smith and husband Jarrod and son Bragen of Tuttle, Derek Blevins and Wife Jordan of Hobart, Katie Blevins of Lone Wolf, Michael Blevins and wife Laura of Yukon, Jackson Blevins of Oklahoma City, Kade Blevins of Stillwater, Katelyn Blevins of Lone Wolf, Tina McCoy and husband JoRay of Edmond, Kimberley Pierce of Lone Wolf, Amanda Page and husband Kevin of Farmville, LA, and Bryan Jernigan of Hobart, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Ronnel was preceded in death by his parents Lester and O’Leva Blevins, sons Ronnel W. and Donald D. Blevins, brothers Harold, Bud, Sam and Ed, sisters Dorothy Pollard, Hazel Henthorn, Marion Miles and Rusha Reeves, and father-in-law Jack Clark.
