Dorthey Pollard, 89, died September 14, 2009, at Tuttle Care Center in Tuttle,
Oklahoma.
Services are pending with People's Co-operative Funeral Home in Lone Wolf,
Oklahoma.

Dorthey Bernice Blevins Pollard died September 14, 2009.
She was born March 29, 1920, to Lester and Olevia Blevins near Lugert, Oklahoma,
one of 13 children. She attended Lugert School through the eighth grade.
She married Delbert Pollard December 12, 1936. They made their home at Hicks
Mountain near Lugert where they farmed for Dillard Hicks. When groceries were
needed, they walked to Frank Lugert's store.
She was an accomplished seamstress and did lots of sewing for busy teachers. She
made everything from prom dresses to wedding dresses and once made a hat for a
lady needing one to match an outfit.
When her daughter Debra opened the Country Kitchen in Lone Wolf, she went to
work as a cook. She also worked as a cook for Elkview GeneralHospital and B&K
Nursing home.
She enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV and she loved real cowboys, Roy
Rogers, Gene Autry and John Wayne. She also enjoyed music and her home was
always filled with music.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Smith, Tuttle; and Marquita Jarvis and
husband Rodney, Creede, Colorado; three grandsons, Lone Wolf; two
granddaughters, Tuttle; 11 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Hazel Henthorn,
Mangum; Rusha Reeves and husband Robert, Lone Wolf; Norma Ward and husband
Gerald, Marlow; and Geneva Armstrong and husband Nick, Lone Wolf; and four
brothers, Samuel Blevins and wife Hazel, New Braunfels, Texas; Donnel Blevins
and wife Eloise, Duncan; Ronnel Blevins and wife Sheila, Lone Wolf; and Pat
Blevins, Enid.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Loretta
Pollard, three brothers, Harold, Ardney and Edwin Blevins, and a sister, Marion
Miles and a son-in-law, A J Smith.
Services were September 16, 2009, under direction of People's Co-operative
Funeral Home, Lone Wolf.
