KNUST
Leora Colleen Knust, daughter of Fred and Louise Goering, was born June 22, 1923 at Lacona, Iowa. She departed this life at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital, where she had been a patient, Dec. 4, 1983 at the age of 60.
Leora was baptized in infancy and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Lacona.
Leora was united in marriage to Kermit Knust on Dec. 20, 1940. Four children were born to this union.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five brothers.
Her survivors are son, Larry and wife Bonnie; daughter, Linda Pennington and husband Richard, and son, Chris and wife Brenda, all of Russell; and daughter Karen Hopson and husband Mike of Grinnell.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Bryon Pennington and Kim and Kevin Knust, all of Russell; her sister, Bertha Gravitt of Fort Meyers, Fla., and a brother, Carl Goering of Derby, Iowa, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss her.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1983 at 3 p.m. at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial was in the Russell Cemetery.
