GOERING
Darrell Edwin Goering, the son of Fred and Louise Goering, was born January 26, 1927, near Newbern, Iowa, and entered his eternal rest at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital, on September 3, 1974. He was 47 years, 7 months and 8 days of age.
He was baptized by the Lutheran minister in Melcher. For many years he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad.
On January 17, 1946, he was united in marriage to Ruth Heston. To this union two children were born: one daughter, Mary, and one son, Larry, both still at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Walter Baumgarten an Ray Goering.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two children, Mary and Larry, all of Chariton; two sisters, Leora Knust of Russell; and Bertha Gravitt of Milan, Ill.; four brothers, Ulin of Indianola; Arthur of Richland, Wash.; Carl of Derby; and Howard of Lucas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. Edward Quick at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 6, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
