FRED WILLIAM GOERING

Fred William Goering, son of Frank and Ida Goering, died following a lengthy illness, April 18, 1951, at the age of 73 years. His life was spent in the vicinity of Lacona and Chariton.

On December 27, 1903, he was united in marriage to Louise Baumgarten, who preceded him in death May 17, 1942. To this union were born six sons and two daughters.

He was a devoted father and will be missed by his loved ones.

Eight children survive him and they are Mrs. Elmer Gravitt, of San Fernando, Calif.; Mrs. K. Knust, of Columbia; Ray and Arthur, of Grandview, Wash.; Carl, of Derby; Howard, of Carlisle; Ulin, of Indianola; and Darrell, of Chariton.

He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lena, Emma and Louise, of California, and Dora, of Afton; two brothers, Jules and Henry, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Methodist church at Lacona, Sunday, April 22. The Rev. Mr. Lamb, of Des Moines, officiated and burial was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
