She was a member of the Athens Missionary Baptist Church.
Born in Monroe County on June 17, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Omie (Fox) Adams and the wife of the late Oral Summers. They were married Nov. 30, 1934.
Survivors include six sons, Dewayne Summers, Noblesville, Ind., and David, Denver, Dennis, Larry and Oral Lanes Summers, all of Tompkinsville; a daughter, Naomi Proffitt, Tompkinsville; a brother, Levie Adams, Tompkinsville; four sisters — Clorene Sheffield, Temple Hill; Dealie Hale and Ruie Adams, both of Tompkinsville; and Lemie Webb, Arcadia, Ind.; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Two daughters, Ila Maurice Summers and Mildred S. Strode; two brothers, Jessie and Clyde Adams; and three sisters, Lucy Hicks, Ruby Adams and Leona Creasy, all preceded her in death.
Burial was at the Beautiful Home Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Proffitt, Jason Shirley, and David, Dewayne, Larry and Neal Summers. Honorary pallbearers were Sherman Shirley, David Kerney and Dr. Michael Carter.
