Harrison was the son of Charlie Eugene Stallings and Georgia Gertrude Duncan/Stallings. He was born in Carroll County, Georgia. He died in Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia.

He married Dorothy Lois Steed on 4/19/1941, in Temple, Carroll County, Georgia at his father's house. They were married by Rev. Monroe Burns.

Their first child and only son, Charles David Stallings did not survive. He was born and died on 11/9/1943. He, too, is buried at Asbury Cemetery. They also have two daughters, Rebecca and Jan.

Harrison worked for many years at Sewell Manufacturing in Carroll County, Georgia, as a salesman.

Harrison was the seventh of eight children. He was the last surviving child of his parents. His wife, Dorothy, passed away on 4/15/2007 in Hartwell, Hart County, Georgia. They had been married for 66 years. He greatly missed his wife and he passed away just 21 days later on 5/6/2007. Harrison was a sweet and gentle man. He was the kind of man that all men should strive to be.

Harrison and Dorothy were both cremated and their ashes will be buried at Asbury Cemetery, in the same plot with their son.

Harrison and Dorothy will both be greatly missed. They were an asset to their community, their church and to their family.

Mr. Charles Harrison Stallings, 85, of 145 Cleveland Ave., Hartwell, died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Hart Co. Hospital.

Born on October 16, 1921 in Temple, GA, he was the son of the Charlie Eugene Stallings and Georgia Gertrude Duncan Stallings.He retired from Sewell Manufacturing Company, where he worked in quality control.He was a member of the Hartwell First United Methodist Church, Sojourners and the Wallace White Sunday School Class.He was a WW II U. S. Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific theater.

Survivors include two daughters: Rebecca S. Lunsford of Norcross GA and Jan S. Banks of Lavonia; three grandchildren: Robert Banks, Jamie L. Brys and John Lunsford; two great-grandchildren: Kristen Banks and Carter Banks also survive.He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Steed Stallings, a son: Charles Davis Stallings; three brothers: Earl Stallings, Carl Stallings and Tom Stallings and three sisters: Sara Ferguson, Lois Smith and Allene Vinke.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. Allen Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall.
