Tom was married five times. He was first married to Evelyn Biles/Stallings/Harrison on June 16, 1929 in Carroll County, Georgia. Married by Rev. T. J. Corley. They divorced on October 2, 1939.
The next eight and a half years, he married four more times. His second marriage was to Margaret Graham. They divorced and then remarried each other a second time. That marriage, too, ended in divorce. He was married a fourth time..... her name is unknown. He was then married to Polly Daphne Smith/Stallings on March 9, 1948.
Tom had one son, by his first marriage - Robert Eugene "Bob" Stallings. He had very little to do with raising his son or supporting him in any way.
Bob had a massive heart attack on 12/27/1982 and it was fatal. He was just 52 years old. Tom was estranged from his son, Bob, for most of his life. He was pretty much an absentee father. Tom was also estranged from most of his family and neighbors because of the way he treated others.
Tom was a very harsh, critical and abusive person.
I am his step-daughter. I grew up with him from the age of 3 years. He was very abusive, just plain mean and I endured a lot of physical and mental abuse from him.
Tom was very difficult to get along with. He was mean, grumpy, hateful and treated others with little regard.
