Funeral Services for Fred Blodgett

Fred Blodgett, age 71, a resident of this village for the past 49 years, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 1947, at the Foote Hospital in Jackson.
Fred, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Blodgett, was born Sept. 1, 1875, in the township of Tekonsha.
Fred spent his whole life in the service of others. For 15 years he worked on the farm of J.W. Breakey, now owned by Hector Mestdaugh, and for Court and Son for several years.
Fred was always willing to lend a helping hand to friend and neighbor, and was especially devoted to his mother and father, making a home for them in their declining years.
Fred was the oldest of eleven children, of which three have preceded him in death, a sister, Mrs. Elsie Whittaker, and two brothers, Hugh and Willis, Surviving are Harry, and Leo of Homer, Clarence of Albion, Vaughn of Detroit, Mrs. Matie Cook of Athens, Mrs. Hazel Hamilton, and Mrs. Fern Howe of Homer, besides his many relatives and friends.
