Larry Keith Miller was born on Oct. 21, 1946 in Parksville (Tank Pond Rd), Boyle Co., Kentucky. He was the son of Estill Lee "Pete" Miller (1916-1996) and Eva "Evie" King (1920-1999), the sixth of their twelve children. Both of his parents are buried in the Parksville Cemetery.

Larry's father, Estill, was born in Honaker, Russell Co., Virginia. He was the son of Ambrose Parr "Ambers" Miller (1893-1953) and Ada Alice Honaker (1894-1960), both born in Russell Co., VA.

Larry's mother, Evie, was born in Parksville on Tennessee Ridge. She was the daughter of Thomas Letcher "Tom" King 1871-1973) and Minna Susan "Minnie" Gouch (1883-1971). They had moved their family to the Parksville area of Boyle County about 1916 from the community of Kingtown in McCreary Co., KY. Larry's grandparents lived on Tennessee Ridge for over 50 years. They too, are buried in the Parksville Cemetery.

My Dad, Mitchell R. "Mitch"King (1923-1995), and Larry's mother, Evie (1920-1999), were siblings, born in the same old house in a hollow off Tennessee Ridge Road. They were close growing up and remained so throughout the years.

When my family and his used to visit or when we were both visiting out grandparents, we, along with some of his brothers, used to play together. I still remember the outdoor games kids played in those days, our apple fights in our grandfather's old orchard, swinging through the trees on the old grape vine on his farm, etc. Years later, when Larry was stationed at the US Naval Base in Charleston, South Carolina, he made a point to visit me when I was working at Charleston Southern College. We went to visit with him as well.

Larry retired from the US Navy (Charleston Naval Shipyard) as a wood crafter. He enjoyed spending time with his family (married to Joyce Stokes), "...hunting, fishing, tinkering and being outdoors".

Larry lost his life in an auto accident on May 8, 2018 near Charleston, South Carolina. He is buried in the Carolina Memorial park in North Charleston, Charleston Co., South Carolina.
