Truman Lee Miller was born on Aug. 9, 1945 in Parksville, Boyle Co., Kentucky. He was the son of Estill Lee "Pete" Miller (1916-1996) and Eva "Evie" King (1920-1999), the fifth of their twelve known children. Both of his parents & three of his siblings preceded him in death.

Truman's father, Pete, who he was named "Lee" after, was born in Honaker, Russell Co., Virginia. He was the son of Ambrose Parr "Ambers" Miller (1893-1953) and Ada Alice Honaker (1894-1980). Both of Pete's parents were born in Russell Co., Virginia. Ambers died in Honaker, Russell Co., VA. Ada died in Danville, Boyle Co., Kentucky.

Truman's mother, Evie, was born on in her parent's home on Tennessee Ridge in Parksville, Boyle Co., KY. She was the daughter of Thomas Letcher "Tom" King (1881-1973) and Minna Susan "Minnie" (Gooch) King (1884-1971). Evie died in Perryville, Boyle Co., KY at the age of 79. She is buried along side her husband, Pete, in the Parksville Cemetery.

Truman's paternal grandfather, Tom, was born in Whitley Co. (now McCreary Co.). Truman's paternal grandmother, Minnie, was born just inside Knox Co., KY close to the Whitlley town of Woodbine. They married in 1901 and moved their growing family from Kingtown, Whitley Co. (now McCreary Co.) to Parksville in 1916. They lived the rest of their lives (50+ years) on Tennessee Ridge.

Truman grew up on Tank Pond Road just outside Parksville. As a teenager and young adult he used to stay with his elderly maternal grandparents, Tom and Minnie (Gooch) King. Truman, a devout Christian, was a quiet individual who never married. Throughout his life he loved doing things for other people.

Truman died on June 8, 2013 in a Lexington, Fayette Co., KY hospital at the age of 67. At the time of his death he had been living in Richmond, Madison Co., KY. Truman is buried in the Parksville Cemetery near his parents. His paternal grandparents, Tom and Minnie King, are also buried in this cemetery, as are several other relatives.
