Etta Lanora (Hall) Gray, 94, of Warren, Michigan, died February 20, 2018, in Frankfort, Michigan.

She was born to Charlie Cleveland Hall and Etta Elizabeth (Cooper) Hall on October 24, 1923, in Concord, Arkansas, and was the last surviving child of 12. She married Hershel Harvey Gray on February 10, 1944 in Batesville, Arkansas.

Lanora and Hershel moved to Michigan in 1947. There, they raised the family that she loved dearly. But she never lost her southern roots, and held close to her Arkansas ties. In her life, whether it was making her famous rolls for the holidays, teaching Sunday School at the church, or simply enjoying the outdoors, each person she encountered knew what a special, kind, generous woman she was. She will be greatly missed, but we are all better for knowing her and being loved by her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Power and Shirley Dietz; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Power, Kelli Power (Doug) Cole, Andrew Dietz, and Katherine Dietz; and one great-grandchild, Addison Cole.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sisters, and sons-in-law Jerry Power and David Dietz.

Visitation and services will be held at E.J. Mandziuk & Sons in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Friday, February 23. A private burial will be held the following day at White Chapel for immediate family.

Because she touched so many people in so many different ways, we ask that any donations be given to the organization of your choice in her memory.
