Nancy Ann was the daughter of Francis Nelson Battles, who died in the Civil War in 1863 and Mary Ann Lawson of St Clair, Alabama. Nancy Ann married Jacob Jarmon Johnson in Izard, Arkansas in 1869. Their children were Arthur N, Fannie Lee Ann, Mary Ann, W Thomas, Isaac Frank, Nellie A, James Daniel, and George E Johnson.
