Mrs. Nelie A. Baker, wife of
William E. Baker, died at her
home near Sidney on Sunday,
Oct 20, 1940. She was born
Jan. 8, 1879, a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Jacob Johnson of Izard
county. She is survived
by her husband, one daughter,
Mrs. Myrtle Smith, and three
grandchildren, another daughter
dying in 1933.
She professed faith in Christ
and united with the Baptist
Church in 1921. It was said at
the funeral that her life speaks
for the Christian life. She
will be greatly missed by her
friends as well as by her family.
Funeral services were conducted
by Rev. P. F. Weaver of Batesville,
assisted by Rev. Hill. Burial was
in Mount Carmel Cemetery at Sydney.
