Early Life: Anna was born October 30, 1920, in Talmage, Utah, to Austin Garr and Leonora McMillan Burton, the seventh of their eight children.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: She graduated from the University of Utah in 1942 with her teaching certificate. The next day, June 10, 1942, Anna married Albert D. Kenison, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple made their home in Talmage where she taught 4th grade for a year. They later lived in Salt Lake City and finally, settled in West Mountain. Their children are: Alan (Sheree), Dale (Phyllis) , Mary Lynn (Ron) Peterson, Darrel (Karen), Karen (Kenneth) Shaw, Marvin (Kathleen), Gordon (Kim), Blaine (Laurel) and Michael. Many others found refuge in Anna’s home. Anyone in need was her neighbor. She looked for good and she found it. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in every auxiliary at the ward and stake level. She and Albert served a mission to the Washington D.C. LDS Temple. Anna has 55 grandchildren and 173 great grandchildren. The treasures of her life were God and family. She will be remembered for her selfless service, her generosity and kindness, her dependability and steady heart, and her abiding faith and deep testimony. Anna Burton Kenison passed from this life in September of 2017.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Albert D. Kenison; her son, Michael Kenison; her parents; three grandchildren: Rachel Kenison, Steven Kenison and Charles Shaw; and two great grandchildren: Fielding Garr Kenison and Zan Peterson.
