Vernita "Coon" Swanson, 87, of Bloss Hill Rd., Sheffield, died unexpectedly at 4 a.m. Friday, March 28, 1986.
She was born March 18, 1899, in Lynch, a daughter of the later O.E. Rupert and Elsie Bloss Rupert and was married in Jamestown , NY to Gustav Swanson, who preceded her in death. She had lived in Sheffield for 65 years, moving there from Porkey in Forest County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield, the Home Builders Class and Allegheny Outdoor Club.
Survivors include two sons, W Roberth Swanson of Sheffield, Buddy Paul Rupert of Seneca, S.C; one brother, Donald Rupert of Porkey; three sisters, Doris Rupert and Mrs. Altra Littlefield both of Porkey, and Mrs. Lois Brenan of Rock City, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nell Hover, and two brothers, Lyle and Marion Rupert.
Friends may call at the Borden-Vincent Funeral Home, SHeffield, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be held there at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, by the Rev. RalphRomine, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Sheffield. Burial will follow in Sheffield Cemetery.
