Born Dec. 12, 1901, in Lynch, Forest County, Pa., she was a daughter of Otis Elmer and Elsie Bloss Rupert. On Nov. 4, 1929, in Bradford, Pa., she married Norris E. Brenan, who died Nov. 14, 1980.
Mrs. Brenan attended high school in Sheffield, PA. and lived in Duke Center, Pa., before moving to Rock City in 1939. She moved to Houghton in 1993. From 1965 to 1993, she owned and operated Norris Oil Co. in Duke Center with her husband until his death.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania Independent Petroleum Produces for many years and of the American Association of Retired Persons. She enjoyed flowers and gardening for many years.
Surviving are a son, Jerry L. (Connie) Brenan of Duke Center; two daughters, Jean A. (James) Koebelin of Spring Hill, Fla., and Marjory R. Dodd of Clifton Park; eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; a sister Doris Rupert of Sheffield, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brenan was predeceased by a daughter, Janet Buckley, in 1979; three brothers, Marion Rupert, Pat Rupert and Donald Rupert; and three sisters, Vernita Swanson, Nell Hoover, and Alta Littlefield.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred. Funeral and Committal services will be held Saturday (March 4, 2000) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Glenn Hamilton, pastor of the Cyclone Free Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Duke Center Cemetery.
Memorials may be mad to the charity of the donor’s choice.
