Bette Ann How, 83, of Midland, died Tuesday evening, November 3, 2015 at her residence.
She was born May 4, 1932 in South Ashburnham, MA, daughter of the late Louis and Lena (Withington) LaBrack. She was married to Franklin W. How in July of 1954. He predeceased her January 19, 1982.
Mrs. How was employed for ten years in the kitchen at the Midland Hospital. She later was employed as a Para-Professional for 28 years at the Siebert School in Midland, where she worked with 1st graders. She was a member of the Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church and was active in the Special Olympics, the American Legion Auxiliary in both Midland and Sanford. She was a fabulous knitter, avid reader, and was active in giving her time and talents to her community.

Surviving are children, Franklin How Jr. of Midland; Sylvia Zolton of Freeland; Cindy Hall and her husband John, and James How, all of Midland; her granddaughter, Roxannie Hall of Midland and her sister, Alta Mae Sibiga of Wallingford, Connecticut. In addition to her parents and husband, Bette was predeceased by five sisters, five brothers and her son-in-law, Daniel T Zolton.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 from the Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church, 5501 Jefferson Ave in Midland. Rev. Dr. Rhonda Meyers will officiate with private family committal to take place Friday, November 20, 2015 in the Midland Cemetery. Bette’s family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the Memorial Service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Midland County Special Olympics Area 30.
