Margaret E. Keeney Hann Main, age 93, of Felton, DE and formerly of Union Bridge, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Seaford Center, Seaford, DE following a lengthy illness.

Born August 13, 1923 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Ephriam Eli Keeney and Margaret Elizabeth Smith Keeney. Twice married, her first husband was Hayden M. Hann, who died Nov. 11, 1955, her second husband of 50 years was William R. Main, who died Dec. 21, 2016.

Mrs. Main attended a one-room schoolhouse on Crouse Mill Road. She was employed with the Elmer Wolfe School and Francis Scott Key High School cafeterias and retired from Springfield Hospital, Sykesville in 1966. She was a Sunday school teacher for the Union Bridge United Methodist Church. In 1969 she and her husband Bill moved to Florida and resided there for 30 years, where she was very active with Conway United Methodist Church, Orlando and volunteered at an elementary school, where she enjoyed working with children. She and Bill then moved to Felton, where she was a member of Sandtown Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed flowers, crafting and making Christmas ornaments, calendars and quilts. Although distance kept them apart, she always enjoyed hearing about the activities of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A loving Mom, Granny, Great-Granny and Great-Great-Granny, she is survived by daughters, Audrey L. McDaniel (Bobby) of Damascus, Patricia A. Blacksten (Dick) of Denton, MD; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hann of West Palm Beach, FL; stepdaughter, Beverly Metcalf of Alaska; stepson, Caroll Main (Kathy) of Felton; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nina U. Martin of Sykesville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Hayden M. Hann Jr. on Nov. 24, 2016; a great-grandson, Tristen Monroe; a great-great-granddaughter, Alaina Elizabeth; 7 sisters and 3 brothers.

Through her illness she had loving and devoted care from caregivers in her home, hospice and nursing home staff.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, MD from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 19, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. Pastor Fern Brittain, her pastor, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery, Union Bridge.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 25 at 12 Noon at Sandtown Church of the Nazarene, 448 Willowgrove Rd., Felton.
