Walter Weston, 92, suite 19, Newell apartments, died at his home Wednesday. Funeral service will be in Alliance tabernacle Monday at 2 p.m. with burial in Regina cemetery.
Mr. Weston was the last of the well-known Weston brothers of Toronto who operated bakeries in several of the principal cities of Canada.
Mr. Weston was born at Madoc, Hastings and Peterborough county, Ont., in 1861. In 1883 he homesteaded at Lorlie, Sask., and in 1886 returned to Toronto where he opened a bakery. In 1887 he married Jane Davidson of Glasgow, Scotland, in Toronto. She died there in 1900. Mr. Weston then sold his bakery to his brothers, in 1902 he married Elizabeth McEwen in Toronto and in 1904 they came west to Lorlie, where Mr. Weston had large farm holdings. He also owned his own elevator from 1917 to 1929, when the Wheat Pool took over the building. In 1935 the family moved to Regina and Mrs. Weston died here in 1949.
Surviving are three sons, Walter G. and Archibald of Lorlie and Arnett D. of Lloyminster; five daughters, Mrs. Charles Hatcher, Midale, Violet, suite 19 Newell apartments, May, Regina Court, children of his first marriage, and Mrs. W. J. Ellis, Edmonton and Mrs. Eric Ellis, Pilot Butte, children of the second marriage.
There are 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Weston was a life member of Abernethy Masonic lodge No. 77.
