AGED WOMAN IS DEAD

Mrs.Samuel Latchaw died at her home 328 Howard street, at 7:30 o'clock Thursday evening, after a protracted illness from a complication of diseases. She was 83 years old.

Up to within a few years she has been in fairly good health, scarcely ever being necessitated to call a physician.

Speaking of her, an old friend said:
"Her whole life has been one of earnest endeavor to lessen the burdens of others and strew flowers of kindness along her path. A more faithful, devoted mother never lived and her children arise up and call her "blessed."

"Mrs. Latchaw had been a devoted Christian since girlhood, never wavering in her faith and her consistent life has had a molding influence on the lives of her family."

The last words of Mrs. Latchaw were, "There's not a cloud within the skies, to hide me from my Savior's eyes. All is well, don't worry."

She was born Dec. 22, 1829 in Venango county Pennsylvania. On Dec. 2, 1850, she was married to Samuel Latchaw, and soon thereafter removed with him to Cedar county, Iowa, where a family of eleven children were born and reared except four who died in infancy. The other members of the family are living except Martin.

The surviving children are: Dr. John R. H. Latchaw, ex-president of Findlay College, now of Wilton, Iowa; Rev. E. L. Lathchaw, of Baker, Minn., and I.N. Latchaw, Mrs. Attie Blackford, P.S. Latchaw and C. F. Latchaw, all of this city. (Findlay)

The funeral will be held at the home at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial in the mausoleum at Maple Grove Cemetery.
