Mary Edna Loutzenhiser, 96, of Butler died Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital. She was born April 15, 1916, in Butler, and was a daughter of the late John and Edna (McGuire) Stein. Mary graduated from Butler High School and Slippery Rock Normal School. She was a homemaker and mother and had worked in the Shell Shop at Pullman Standard during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers, and had enjoyed reading, traveling and watching sports on TV. Surviving are her children, Carol (Harold) Monks of Butler, Louis R. (Peg) Loutzenhiser of Pittsburgh, and Marilyn (Larry) Boyer of Butler; one brother, Charles (Julie) Stein of McKeesport Pa.; seven grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Loutzenhiser, who she married Dec. 4, 1936, and who died Jan. 7, 1997; and three brothers, Gerald, Gerard and Francis Stein. LOUTZENHISER - There will not be a visitation for Mary Edna Loutzenhiser, who died Saturday, April 13, 2013. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Arrangements are entrusted to the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday at the church to recite the rosary. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Church, 128 N.
