From the Monitor Review, May 19, 1983:
Oscar M. Hanson was born April 20, 1888, in Adams, Mn., the son of Ben M. and Kjesti Erie Hanson. He attended Adams Country School and was baptized and confirmed in Little Cedar Lutheran Church.

Oscar never married. He was engaged in farming, living on the home farm, and took care of his parents, brother, and sister. After he retired from farming, he moved into Adams and made his home with a sister, Mrs. Clara Finkelson. He lived in Adams until November 1979 when he moved to West Concord, Mn., to make his home with his niece, Adeline Engen. He came to the Adams Health Care Center in June 1982. He enjoyed his stay at the Health Care Center as he was able to see his many friends and acquaintances.

Oscar was the last surviving member of his family as he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister. He had been in good health and very alert in all ways until the very last. He became sick a few days before his 95th birthday and slowly became weaker. He passed away on Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 1983.

Oscar loved gardening and flowers which was evidenced by his home while he lived in Adams. He always shared everything he had with his friends, and was always willing to help anyone. He always had a smile and was everyone's friend.

Oscar is survived by nieces and nephews and many good friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 30 at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Gunderson officiating. Interment was at Little Cedar Cemetery. Casket bearers were Arnold Thune, Wilbur Johnson, Walter Underdahl, Orville Knutson, Robert Hanson and Vernon Schaefer.
