Mrs. Clara Finkelson, 92, formerly of Adams, passed away Tuesday night at Burr Oak Manor in Austin, where she resided for two years.
The former Clara Hanson was born February 12, 1881 near Adams where she lived throughout her life. She married Peter Finkelson May 24, 1900 and the couple farmed in the Adams area. She was preceded in death by a son, Norman, her husband, Peter and two children who died in infancy. Her husband died on their 46th wedding anniversary, May 24.
Survivors are four sons, Harry of Madela, Wilhem and Raymond, both of Austin, and Harvey of Jackson, Wyoming; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Kenney) Adams and Mrs. Alfred (Irene) Ramseth, both of St. Paul, Mrs. Hazel Jansen of Jackson, Wyoming and Mrs. Lucille Giller of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 20 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; three brothers, Oscar of Adams, Harry of Austin and Chris Hanson of West Concord, and a sister, Mrs. Gena Ellingson of Seattle, Washington, plus many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams, with Rev. Wayne Quibell officiating. Burial was at the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were her six grandson, Donald Adams, St. Paul, Duane Ramseth, St. Paul, Harlan Jansen, Denver, Colorado, Daryl Finkelson, St. Paul, Warren Finkelson, Austin, Tom Olejnicak, Rosemount.
