John Aldrup
John Aldrup, 80, a resident in Worden for 35 years, died Wednesday evening at 6:45 at Community Memorial Hospital, Staunton, where he had been a patient three weeks.
Born Sept. 2, 1879 in Marine, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Aldrup. His wife, the former Cora Howard whom he married Oct. 2, 1905, died Sept. 18, 1953.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Emma Randle of Worden and Mrs. Edward (Clara) Howerton of Edwardsville; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Sophie Prott of West Virginia. Two daughters preceded him in death.
The body may be viewed at the Williamson funeral home, Worden, after 1:30 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday when it will be taken to the Worden Methodist church to lie in state until the 2 p.m. service. The Rev. H.M. Fish will officiate. Interment will be in the Marine cemetery.
