Sophie I. Prott, 84, of Richmond, Va., a former resident of the Highland and Marine areas, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond. She had lived in Richmond since 1971.
Mrs. Prott was born on October 6, 1890, in Alhambra Township. Her parents were the late Fred and Catherine Plegge Aldrup.
She was married to William Wiesemeyer on June 26, 1910, in Marine. Following his death, she was married to Fred Prott on Nov. 9, 1940, in Marine. He also preceded her in death.
Surviving are daughters Mrs. Oscar (Cleda) Deibert of Highland and Mrs. John (Eyleen) Hauss of Richmond, Va., four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A son, Vernon Wiesemeyer, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Prott was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland and an honorary member of the Women's Guild of the church.
Friends may call at the Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland after 4:30 p.m. today.
A funeral service will be held at 1:50 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Mesle, pastor of the Evangelical United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Marine City Cemetery.
