Esther was born August 2, 1922 in Eldorado to Charles and Lena (Yates) Snedecor. She was married to Millard “Bucky” Bixler on February 9, 1939 in Henderson, Kentucky. Together they shared 70 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 1, 2009.
Esther was retired from the Lake Ridge School Corporation. Esther was a member of Faith Assembly Church of God in West Frankfort, and the Skyline Church of God in Woodville, AL.
Survivors include three daughters, DeAnne Golden of Woodville, Cheri (Tom) Randall of Woodville, Sue (Cliff) Brown of Lowell, IN; six grandchildren; Dottie (Bobby) Manning of Woodville, Bill (Von) Golden of Woodville, Mike (Amanda) Randell of Logansport , IN, Brian (Cyndi) Randall of Hobart, IN, DeeDee (Scott) Griggs of Lowell, IN, Amy (Kevin) Thompson of Dyer, IN; fourteen great-grandchildren ,and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters, son-in-law, Owel Golden; a great- granddaughter, and a great- great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Pyle Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Randall & Rev. Mickey Skipper officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
