On his final day on this earth, he said his good-byes to loved ones, witnessed to others of the need to accept Christ, and then said he was ready to meet the Lord.
Charles was born July 18, 1924 near Eldorado Illinois to the late Charles and Lena (nee Yates) Snedecor. He grew during the depression and had many interesting stories to tell. He was a veteran of the Army, deployed to France during WW II. Last year he was able to take the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. and receive recognition for his service.
Charles retired from National Life & Accident Insurance Company and loved spending time with his family and friends at Brentwood Assisted Living.
He will always be remembered for his walk with God and how much he enjoyed singing His praises.
Charles is survived by; sister, Esther Bixler of Woodville, AL; three children: Jan (Marty) Schuster of Hebron, Ken (Alicia) Snedecor of Hobart, Mayor Brian (Janet) Snedecor of Hobart; grandchildren, Chris Schuster of Demotte, Ryan (Brienne) Snedecor of Hobart, Dr. Rachel Snedecor of Louisville, Brianna (Joseph) Thomas of Hobart, Brooke Snedecor of Hobart, Reagan Snedecor of Hobart; Great grandchildren, Jaycie Snedecor and Owen Snedecor; numerous nephews and nieces and many other loving family members and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie M. Snedecor, sisters, Mary Snedecor, Wilma (Lowell) Hale, Dorothy (Malcolm) Maxwell; Brothers Earl (Martha) Snedecor, Phillip (Emma) Snedecor.
Contributions may be made to a very special fund established to preserve Charles and Lillie's memory. Donations may be made through Lillie Snedecor Fund, P.O. Box 482, Hobart, IN 46342 in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at Faith Assembly Church in West Frankfort, IL with funeral services immediately following.
Interment will follow in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado, IL. Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
